The Hit Video Game Series FAR CRY is Coming to Comics with FAR CRY: RITE OF PASSAGE

Ubisoft has teamed up with Dark Horse Comics to bring the world of their hit video game franchise Far Cry into the comic medium. Far Cry: Rite of Passage is written by Bryan Edward Hill, illustrated by Geraldo Borges, colored by Micheal Atiyeh, and lettered by Comicraft and tells the story of how people gain power in the world of Far Cry. The series is currently set to last for 3 issues.

Bringing in fan-favorite villains, Far Cry: Rite of Passage is a gritty tale of the intricate road that leads to the ascension to power. The story kicks off as President Antón Castillo’s only son, Diego, has just turned thirteen. But this birthday is more than a celebration—it’s a rite of passage. Antón wishes to teach Diego important lessons in leadership and recounts cautionary tales he has heard about the undoing of three legendary men: Vaas Montenegro, a pirate, Pagan Min, a dictator, and Joseph Seed, a preacher.

Marie-Joëlle Paquin, the product director for Far Cry, said:

Thanks to a wonderful collaboration with Dark Horse, we are thrilled to share with our fans the very first Far Cry comic series. Through Bryan and Geraldo’s amazing work, we’ll get a fresh look into our beloved villains’ dark pasts. We can’t wait for everyone to fall down this rabbit hole with us.

Far Cry: Rite of Passage #1 will be available on May 19 and is available for pre-order now at your local comic shop. The covers for all three issues are done by Matt Taylor.
