The Hunt for the Next James Bond Will Begin Next Year
Daniel Craig’s time as James Bond has ended with the upcoming film No Time To Die. That film concludes his story arc, and the franchise is about to be rebooted again with a new actor in the role of 007. As you know, it’s just the cycle of this franchise.
Over the years there’s been a lot of talk and discussion about who will take over the role of James Bond. There are a lot of different names that have been thrown out there, but the producers of the franchise haven’t serious started their search yet.
According to producer Barbara Broccoli, the hunt for the next James Bond won’t start until 2022. During an interview with BBC Radio 4’s Today program, Broccoli shared, “We want Daniel to have his time of celebration. Next year we’ll start thinking about the future.”
Broccoli went on to discuss how Craig had been reluctant to taking on the role of Bond, saying, “He knew it would change his life, which it obviously has. He enabled us to explore the emotional life of Bond, to go deeply into the personal, complexity of the character.”
I can’t help but think that the producing team has a list of actors that they plan on approaching, but only one of those actors will be the next Bond. It’ll be interesting to see who it is! Producer Michael G. Wilson said that whoever it is has some “big shoes to fill.”
Who would you like to see take on the role of James Bond next?
