THE HURT LOCKER Writer is Developing an Apple TV+ Series Titled ECHO 3
The writer and producer of The Hurt Locker and Zero Dark Thirty, Mark Boal, is set to develop a new drama thriller series for Apple TV+ titled Echo 3.
The ten-part series will follow Amber Chesborough, “a brilliant young scientist, the emotional center of a small American family. When she goes missing along the Colombia-Venezuela border, her brother and her husband — two men with deep military experience and complicated pasts — struggle to find her in a layered, personal drama, set against the explosive backdrop of a secret war.”
The project is an adaptation of an Israeli drama titled When Heroes Fly, which came from Keshet Studios. It was created by Omri Givon, and inspired by the novel by Amir Gutfreund. The movie will be shot with English and Spanish dialogue.
Boal will also serve as showrunner alongside co-showrunner and executive producer Jason Horwitch.
