The Identity of Zendaya's SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Character Has Been Revealed and it's a Big Spoiler
There has been a lot of speculation surrounding the identity of Zendaya's character in Spider-Man: Homecoming. A lot of fans think that she's really Mary Jane, but that's not the case at all. The true identity of her character has been revealed in the novelization of the film and it's actually kind of a pretty big spoiler. So if you don't want to know, stop reading now.
All we have known about Zendaya's character up to this point is that her name is Michelle. According to the novel, the full name of her character is Michelle Toomes.
In case you don't recognize that last name, it's the same last name as Adrian Toomes a.k.a. The Vulture. That's right, she is related to The Vulture and is mostly likely his daughter. That hasn't been confirmed, but something like that would definitely rock Peter Parker's world and make things interesting.
None of this has been hinted at in any of the trailers that have been released, but it will be interesting to see how this story arc plays out.
Adrian Toomes is a blue-collar worker who is struggling to make ends meet, and things become increasingly frustrating for him, especially after Tony Stark’s Department of Damage Control comes in and takes over a business opportunity that he relied on. This leads him to start trading alien artifacts on the black market and takes him on the journey to becoming the Vulture.
He definitely has more motivation to do what he's doing if it's all to help his daughter Michelle. This new plot element will help make Adrien even more of a relatable character because anyone with kids would do whatever it took to take care of them.
