The Impressive First Trailer For X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX Has Arrived!

As promised, the first trailer for director Simon Kinberg’s X-Men: Dark Phoenix has been released. There hasn’t been much excitement about this film, which is totally understandable considering it’s been a long time since we’ve seen a great X-Men film, not including Logan and Deadpool.

That being said, this latest X-Men film looks like it actually could be a good and entertaining film. I like what I’m seeing in this trailer, especially the intensity building up around Jean Grey.

I think most fans are just excited to see what Marvel Studios ends up doing with the characters once they get their hands back on them. But, in the mean time we have this, and after watching this trailer, I’m looking forward to watching it.

In Dark Phoenix, the X-Men face their most formidable and powerful foe: one of their own, Jean Grey. During a rescue mission in space, Jean is nearly killed when she is hit by a mysterious cosmic force. Once she returns home, this force not only makes her infinitely more powerful, but far more unstable. Wrestling with this entity inside her, Jean unleashes her powers in ways she can neither comprehend nor contain. With Jean spiraling our of control, and hurting the ones she loves most, she begins to unravel the very fabric that holds the X-Men together. Now, with this family falling apart, they must find a way to unite - not only to save Jean's soul, but to save our very planet from aliens who wish to weaponize this force and rule the galaxy.

Dark Phoenix sees the return of James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Tye Sheridan, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Sophie Grace, and Alexandra Shipp. Jessica Chastain will be taking on the role of a mysterious villain in the story.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix is set to hit theaters on February 14, 2019. Watch the trailer and let us know what you think!
