THE INVISIBLE MAN Producer Jason Blum Would Love To Make a FRANKENSTEIN Movie

Producer Jason Blum had a chance to play in the Universal Monster universe with his most recent film, The Invisible Man. It actually ended up being a great film that was a hit with audiences and now he wants a shot to produce another Universal Monster movie with Frankenstein.

During a recent interview with The Evolution of Horror podcast, the filmmaker said he would love to make a Frankenstein movie:

“I’d love to do Frankenstein. I’ve tasked our filmmakers with trying to figure out just straight Frankenstein. Again, I don’t know if someone else is doing it, I don’t know anything about it, but I would love to try and I’m waiting for the great idea. The Invisible Man, I agree, the best ideas feel like, ‘My gosh, it’s so obvious, why didn’t that happen before?’ If we could come up with something as good for Frankenstein, I’d love to try that.”

Right now, the only person that I would really love to see make a Frankenstein movie is Guillermo del Toro. That’s been a dream project of his for years, and to see him be able to make that film would be great.

While I really liked The Invisible Man, Frankenstein would need to be a completely different kind of film with a very different period setting. If Blumhouse got a hold of it, I think they’d place it in a modern-day setting, and I don’t want that in a Frankenstein movie!

Who would you like to see make a new Frankenstein movie? How would you like to see the film handled? My dream project would be inspired by the Frankenstein comic art created by Bernie Wrightson.
