The JOHN WICK Prequel Series THE CONTINENTAL Casts a Young Version of Lance Reddick's Charon

The cast for the upcoming John Wick prequel series The Continental continues to come together with the addition of actor Ayomide Adegun. He will be taking on the role of a younger versiom of Charon, who is played by Lance Reddick in the films.

I was wondering if we’d see Charon in the series and get some much needed back story for the character, so I’m excited that his involvement has been confirmed. Adegun will star alongside Colin Woodell, who is playing a young version of Winston Scott, and Mel Gibson, who will take on the role of a character named Cormac. The series will serve as Adegun's professional acting debut.

Also joining the series are Peter Greene (Training Day) and Jeremy Bobb (Russian Doll), who will play Uncle Charlie and Mayhew, respectively. Other cast members include Hubert Point-Du Jour (The Good Lord Bird), Jessica Allain (The Laundromat), Mishel Prada (Vida), Nhung Kate (The Housemaid), and Ben Robson (Animal Kingdom). Point-Du Jour will play Miles; Allain portrays Lou; Prada will play KD, Kate is Yen and Robson plays Frankie.

The story will be told through the eyes and actions of Winston Scott, “who is dragged into the Hell-scape of a 1975 New York City to face a past he thought he’d left behind. Winston charts a deadly course through the New York’s mysterious underworld in a harrowing attempt to seize the iconic hotel, which serves as the meeting point for the world’s most dangerous criminals.”

The Continental is planned as a three-episode event series with each episode being 90 minutes long. The series is being written and executive produced by Greg Coolidge (Wayne, Ride Along) and Kirk Ward (Wayne), who also serve as showrunners. David Leitch, Derek Kolstad, Erica Lee, Chad Stahelski, Paul Wernick, and Rhett Reese will also serve as executive producers.

John Wick: Chapter 4 is currently set to enter theaters on May 27, 2022 while The Continental has yet to set a release date.
