THE KING'S MAN Will Set Up KINGSMAN 3 and We Have New Photos
Director Matthew Vaughn has offered some new details regarding his upcoming Kingsman prequel film, The King’s Man, and we have a couple of new photos to share with you.
While speaking with Empire, Vaughn confirmed that this prequel film will set up the events that will take place in Kingsman 3, which will be the next movie in the franchise after The King’s Man is released. He explains:
“We’ve put seeds for what’s going to happen in Kingsman 3 all the way back into this. And it’s going to be very different.”
Vaughn has also revealed that he’s still trying to figure out whether or not he will return as the director for the third Taron Egerton-led Kingsman film. He did say previously that he was planning to hand the baton to a different director, but now he’s not so sure. He still might have one more Kingsman film in him:
“I actually don’t know what I want to do. There is an opportunity for a director to really change it up, but I’m considering it.”
I’ve enjoyed the Kingsman film that Vaughn has made, and if he decides to keep making them, then I’ll show up to watch them! I just enjoy how crazy and over the top they get!
This story for the upcoming prequel is set in World War I, and the story goes as follows:
“A collection of history's worst tyrants and criminal masterminds gather to plot a war to wipe out millions, one man must race against time to stop them. Discover the origins of the very first independent intelligence agency in The King's Man.”
The film stars Ralph Fiennes (Harry Potter films), Matthew Goode (The Imitation Game), Gemma Arterton (Murder Mystery), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-Ass), Stanley Tucci (The Devil Wears Prada), Daniel Bruhl (Inglorious Basterds), Harris Dickinson (Maleficent: Mistress of Evil), Charles Dance (Game of Thrones), Tom Hollander (About Time), Rhys Ifans (Notting Hill), and Djimon Hounsou (Blood Diamond).
The King’s Man hits theaters on September 18th.
