For those of you who are interested in learning additional details regarding Star Wars: The Last Jedi, we've got some new details you might want to check out. Up until this point, a lot of the speculation and discussion regarding the film have revolved around Rey (Daisy Ridley), Luke (Mark Hamill), Snoke (Andy Serkis), Finn (John Boyega), and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver). We know have a bit of intel that revolves around Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac), BB-8, and Laura Dern’s character Admiral Holdo.
The following information contains possible spoilers so don't read beyond this point if you don't want to know anything:
According to Making Star Wars the name of Laura Dern's character in Star Wars: The Last Jedi may be Admiral Holdo. They explain that the most interesting aspect of the character is that she doesn’t look anything like an admiral in the classic sense. In fact, they say she looks like a character design from the prequel films. They describe her as follows:
Admiral Holdo wears a long mauve regal gown with a short cape that hangs down in back with a concealed laser pistol. She has metallic braces around her wrists. Her pink hair is curled with a flapper vibe to it but it’s not incredibly short or anything. She’s kind of the antithesis of Leia’s new general look of a brown dress with her old A New Hope blaster pistol.
The site goes on to explains that Holdo also seems to be Poe Dameron’s nemesis in the film "as he guides the remnants of the Resistance Fleet through the galaxy as they outrun The First Order fleet." If that's the case, it will be an interesting dynamic to see the resistance divided like this. They go on to offer the following new details on Poe, saying:
Poe is primarly leading this fleet. But there is a moment where we will see that his black X-wing has been upgraded with some new engines making the ship even faster.
Apparently, we'll also be seeing more Resistance BB units in the film. It's explained that these droids "look very rusty and old." They are then described as being almost steampunk in their design.
Their look is very brassy and beat up and they’re in contrast to the First Order BB units that are black with red hot vents on the side of the body. It all makes BB-8 all the more unique.
As for the version of BB-8 that fans fell in love with in The Force Awakens, it's said that he will be with Finn for the majority of the film. It should be fun to see these two embarking on new adventures again!
