The Latest LEGO Group Offering Is a Typewriter Set
How do you celebrate modern day wordsmiths and lovers of vintage things? If you’re The LEGO Group, you unveil the LEGO Ideas Typewriter. This is a LEGO set where you’ll build an actual typewriter that you can feed paper through although it appears to not have ink and therefore not a fully functional machine (but pretty darn close). The set features 2,079 pieces and is based on the typewriter model used by LEGO Group founder Ole Kirk Christiansen. If you purchase one of these sets for $199.99, you’ll get the set, a written and signed letter from LEGO Group chairman Thomas Kirk Kristiansen, and a lot of hipster cred. The typewriter set is based on a design by Steve Guinness that received more than 10,000 votes on the LEGO Ideas platform.
LEGO VIPs will be able to order the set on June 16 with everyone else getting access via LEGO’s website on July 1.
