The Latest Pokémon Presents Did Not Let Fans Down

The Pokémon Company had a recent Pokémon Presents that had a little bit of news for most current titles with an emphasis on the upcoming titles Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl and Legends: Arceus. I’ll start with the smaller updates, and then we’ll close out with the big news. Of course, you can find the full video at the bottom of the article if you’d rather just watch it.

First, it was revealed that Mamoswine and Sylveon will be joining Pokémon Unite. Also, Pokémon Unite will release on mobile devices on September 22. Pre-registrations are open now, and if they reach 2,500,00, all players will get a Unite license for Pikachu, and if the total hits 5,000,000, players will get a special Holowear for Pikachu. Personally, I think the prize should’ve been a different Pokémon since Pikachu is one that many players claimed at the start of the game, so it feels like a bit of a waste, but maybe I don’t know what’s up.

Next, Pokémon GO will see the appearance of Wooloo, Skwovet, and Falinks from August 20-31. From August 20-26, 5-star raids will have Zacian with Zamazenta taking over from August 26-September 1.

Pokémon Masters EX players will be enjoying a new legendary event for the two-year anniversary. This event will bring Dynamaxing to the game. In addition, from now until 10:59 PM PDT on September 15, players can help Eternatus and even get 100 sync pairs.

The final smaller note is that Pokémon Cafe Mix is becoming Pokémon Cafe ReMix with new puzzle elements, new Pokémon, new dress-up options, and a bit more. Fans will be able to enjoy ReMix later this fall.

Let’s get on to the main events! Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are remakes of beloved titles in the Pokémon franchise. It offers new graphics that look great (I personally love the chibified look), and some updated features. The Grand Underground has been updated, the Union Room now allows for connections via the internet, Super Contests are now Super Contest Shows that feature a rhythm aspect, you can personalize your Pokeballs with stickers, you can change your clothes, your Pokémon will follow you, and more. I’m very excited for these games to release on November 19. There’s also a cool Dialga & Palkia Edition of the Nintendo Switch Lite that will be releasing on November 5. Pokémon Home users will need to wait until 2022 for integration with these remakes.

Legends: Arceus concluded the event. This is the first open-world Pokémon title and it’s the most expansive game today. We found out that players will find themselves at Jubilife Village in the Hisui region that would eventually come to be known as the Sinnoh region. In your adventure to research local Pokémon, you’ll need to be careful as Pokémon will actually attack the player. The game looks incredible and we even got to see some new region-specific Pokémon. Fans will be able to play Legends: Arceus on January 28, 2022. Players who pre-order the game will be able to get an in-game outfit based on the Hisuian Growlithe.
