The Latest Trailer for POKEMON SWORD and SHIELD Shows Off New Items and Features That Will Save Trainers a Ton of Time

We are roughly one week away from the launch of Pokémon Sword and Shield, and I am pumped! Pokémon released a new trailer this week that showed off some of the items and features that will be available in the game, and I think the competitive scene may have just gotten more intense. The first items we learn about are mints that change how your Pokémon’s nature affects their stats. Combine that with supplements like Protein, and you may not have to hatch a Pokémon with the perfect nature from the get-go.

Another feature highlighted is Egg Moves. This is when parents pass moves to their children after they hatch from eggs. It looks like now you can take a Pokémon with an Egg Move and give it to another Pokémon of the same species.

Third is the simple fact that players can access their boxes from almost anywhere! This is a godsend! There have been countless times I’ve just finished training one Pokémon and didn’t want to go all the way back to a Pokémon Center to swap them out. Or what about the more common scenario of randomly coming across an area where you need a different Pokémon on your team? Problem solved.

The final new item is that it looks like they broke up Rare Candy into a variety of different sized EXP Candy. It appears to serve the same purpose, but it now ranges from XS to XL.

I’m very excited for Sword and Shield which will be available on November 15.
