At The Legend of Vox Machina panel at New York Comic Con today we got our first look at Critical Role’s new animated series and a release date of February 4, 2022 on Amazon Prime.

We got to see not only the introduction sequence, but the cast do a live table read. Overall, it looks incredible. The animation is beautiful and the music is epic, very fitting for the wildly popular first campaign from Critical Role. Fans and those who donated to the Kickstarter should be incredibly satisfied with the show that they have been able to help make a reality.

The footage offers our first real look at Vex'ahlia, Vax'ildan, Percival de Rolo, Pike Trickfoot, Keyleth, Scanlan Shorthalt, and Grog Strongjaw in action.

The live table read features our heroes having a drink when a bar patron makes the unfortunate mistake of bad mouthing the group. These two previews have me very excited for this show to come out, with the amount of love and passion the whole team has for it there’s no way that it can disappoint.

The animated series is based on Critical Role's first RPG campaign, and the story follows Vox Machina, “a band of eight unlikely heroes who — in a desperate attempt to pay off their mounting bar tab — find themselves on a quest to save the realm of Exandria from dark magical forces.”

The series stars Critical Role’s Laura Bailey, Taliesin Jaffe, Ashley Johnson, Liam O’Brien, Marisha Ray, Sam Riegel, Travis Willingham, and game master Matthew Mercer.

The Legend of Vox Machina is being produced by the animation studio Titmouse, and the series will be executive produced by Brandon Auman and Chris Prynoski in addition to the cast of Critical Role. Sung Jin Ahn will serve as executive director.
