THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE Director Chris McKay To Direct DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS

Paramount Pictures is ready to get the ball rolling on their Dungeons and Dragons movie! According to Variety, the studio has found the director that they want to hire for the film.

Chris McKay, the guy who directed The LEGO Batman Movie and the upcoming Nightwing movie, is in negotiations with the studio to helm the fantasy adventure film. He must’ve had a pretty impressive pitch! He’s still a relatively new feature film director, who got his big break working on Robot Chicken, so to be landing these huge movie gigs for these big budget tentpole films, he must be quite the pitch man!

I loved what he did with The LEGO Batman Movie, but will he be able to kick ass with live-action films like Nightwing and Dungeons and Dragons? I guess we’ll find out!

The script for the movie is being written by Michael Gillio and Hasbro is said to have a big hand in the creative process of the film. This will be one of the first movies to be produced by AllSpark Pictures, which is pretty much Hasbro’s movie production company. They hope to transform themselves into a major player competing with the likes of Marvel Studios and DC Entertainment.

Paramount is also developing a few other projects with Hasbro including a G.I. Joe movie reboot, M.A.S.K., and Micronauts. They will also reboot the Transformers franchise after Bumblebee: The Movie.

What do you think about Chris McKay directing Dungeons and Dragons? What are you hoping to see from this movie? I just hope it gets an epic Lord of the Rings style level of quality.
