THE LEGO MOVIE Sequel Will Be Helmed by TROLLS Director Mike Mitchell

Trolls director Mike Mitchell is set to helm Warner Bros. Animation's The LEGO Movie sequel. Rob Schrab was previously attached to direct the movie, but he ended up dropping out of the project due to "creative differences."

I'm not sure what to think about Mitchell directing this sequel because I hated Trolls so much. My kids wanted to see it, and it was like torture. He's also the director behind films such as Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo, Sky High, Shrek Forever After, and Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked. So, I can't say I'm thrilled that he's coming on board to direct The LEGO Movie.

With the original directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller being the producers of the sequel and having written an early draft of the script, hopefully that's enough to carry the film into awesome status. Lord and Miller are just way too busy to direct it themselves. They just started directing the Han Solo film!

What do you all think of Mitchell being the director of The LEGO Movie sequel? Do you think a guy with his film resume will be able to live up to the standard of hilariously fun comedy set by Lord and Miller?
