We first saw a version of the new poster for The Predator at the Brand Licensing Expo in London earlier this month, but now 20th Century Fox has revealed a motion poster that makes it a whole lot cooler.
Writer/director Shane Black wrote the script with his Monster Squad co-writer Fred Dekker. Black says the film is not a full reboot of the Predator series and remains in the continuity of the first two movies. He also said the film will be rated R.
The cast includes Boyd Holbrook (Logan), Olivia Munn (X-Men: Apocalypse), Keegan-Michael Key (Key & Peele), Thomas Jane (The Punisher), Alfie Allen (Game of Thrones), Sterling K. Brown (This is Us) and Edward James Olmos (Battlestar Galactica).
The original Predator was directed by John McTiernan and starred Arnold Schwarzenegger as the leader of a United States special forces team that comes under attack from an alien trophy hunter. Then in 1990 the direct sequel, Predator 2 hit theaters before the franchise ended up crossing over with Fox’s Alien franchise for AVP and AvP: Requiem. And then in 2010, Nimrod Antal directed and Robert Rodriguez produced a reboot with a new feature, Predators.
The Predator will be released in theaters on August 3, 2018.
