THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE RETURN OF THE KING Is Returning to Theaters!

Peter Jackson’s The Lord of The Rings: The Return of the King is coming back to theaters thanks to Warner Bros. Discovery's 100th Anniversary celebration. This is exciting news and I am more than happy to watch this epic fantasy film on the big screen again! This time, it will be the 260 min. long extended edition!

The rerelease joins Richard Donner’s Superman The Movie and some other projects that will be returning to movie theaters. The screening for The Return of the King will take place only at Regal and Cinemark theaters and it will include an introduction from Elijah Wood.

The rerelease of The Return of the King will mark the two-decade anniversary since the film first premiered in theaters in 2003, and it will be coming to theaters on April 13th.

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King presents the final confrontation between the forces of good and evil fighting for control of the future of Middle-earth. Hobbits Frodo and Sam reach Mordor in their quest to destroy the ‘one ring', while Aragorn leads the forces of good against Sauron's evil army at the stone city of Minas Tirith.

WB shared in a statement: "Warner Bros. Discovery today officially kicked off its global centennial campaign, Celebrating Every Story, ahead of the Warner Bros. Studio's 100th anniversary on April 4, 2023. Over the next 12 months, this milestone birthday will be celebrated across consumer touchpoints with special programming and content, exclusive products and home entertainment releases, a dedicated programming page on HBO Max, omni-channel social media campaigns, live events and screenings, and fan-focused activations around the world."

Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav added: "The name Warner Bros. is synonymous with entertainment and we are honored to be celebrating this iconic studio's centennial and the rich heritage that stretches back to the four brothers who founded it in 1923.
