THE LORD OF THE RINGS Trilogy is Coming To IMAX Theaters For The First Time in 4K This Month
IMAX has announced that Peter Jackson’s beloved The Lord of the Rings trilogy is coming to IMAX theaters this month! These films have never been screened in IMAX before, so this is the first time ever and i=they will be presenting in 4K!
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Rings will open in IMAX theatres on February 5, 2021. The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King will both open in select IMAX theatres on February 12, 2021.
If theaters were open around me right now, I’d have to go! I would love to see these films presenting in IMAX in 4K! Damn, I wish things were back to normal so I could to movies again and events like this! I’m bummed out that I’m going to be missing out on this. Hopefully, they screen them again at some point down the road when theaters are open again.
When it comes to the IMAX theatrical experience during the pandemic, they said that “health and safety remain our highest priority.” They’ve also “joined partners around the world in their pledges, including #CinemaSafe in the U.S. (link here) and more, to make sure that the many film enthusiasts worldwide are welcomed back safely.”
