THE LOST BOYS Broadway Musical Is Actually Happening and the Cast Has Been Announced

If you ever thought a The Lost Boys musical would never happen, think again. The 1987 cult vampire classic is officially making its way to Broadway, and the cast list just dropped along with an opening date. Time to sharpen your fangs or grab or stakes, because this is really happening.

The Broadway musical adaptation of The Lost Boys will open at the Palace Theater in New York City on April 26, 2026, with previews beginning March 27, 2026.

The project comes from producers James Carpinello, Marcus Chait, and Patrick Wilson (The Conjuring movies).

The show features a story by The Lost Boys screenwriters James Jeremias and Janice Roberta Fischer, with a book by David Hornsby and Chris Hoch. Music and lyrics are by The Rescues, and direction comes from Michael Arden, the two-time Tony Award winner whose last project, Maybe Happy Ending, just snagged the Tony for Best Musical.

Now for the cast lineup, which brings the iconic Santa Carla crew back to life in stage form:

Caissie Levy as Lucy Emerson (originally played by Dianne Wiest)

LJ Benet as Michael Emerson (originally played by Jason Patric)

Benjamin Pajak (The Life of Chuck) as Sam Emerson (originally played by Corey Haim)

Ali Louis Bourzgui as David (originally played by Kiefer Sutherland)

Maria Wirries as Star (originally played by Jami Gertz)

Paul Alexander Nolan as Max (originally played by Edward Herrmann)

Jennifer Duka and Miguel Gil as Alan and Edgar Frog (originally played by Jamison Newlander and Corey Feldman)

Brian Flores as Marko (originally played by Alex Winter)

Sean Grandillo as Dwayne (originally played by Billy Wirth)

Dean Maupin as Paul (originally played by Brooke McCarter)

That’s basically the full lineup of the original film’s bloodsucking gang. More casting announcements are expected soon for roles like Laddie, Grandpa, and, of course, the unforgettable Sexy Sax Man.

It’s wild to think this is actually happening. Can The Lost Boys really work as a Broadway musical? Maybe that’s part of the fun. The movie has always had that perfect mix of horror, humor, and camp, so if the stage version leans into that just right, it could be something pretty enjoyable.
