Warner Bros. is moving forward with a feature film reboot of the classic 1987 vampire film The Lost Boys. The reimagining will star Noah Jupe (A Quiet Place) and Jaeden Martell (It). That’s a talented young cast, but there’s no information on who they’ll be playing in the film.

Randy McKinnon, who is currently working on DC’s Static Shock project, will write the new Lost Boys and Jonathan Entwistle (The End of the F***ing World, I Am Not Okay with This) is on board to direct.

There are no details regarding the story, but it will be set in modern day. I assume that the story will be similar to the original film which focused on two brothers who, along with their newly divorced mother to the fictional California beach town of Santa Carla. The brothers soon discover that the town is being terrorized by a vampire biker gang. The story also included a couple of teenage vampire hunters known as the Frog brothers.

That original film, which was helmed by Joel Schumacher, is a favorite movie of mine. It’s just so much damn fun to watch! It starred Jason Patric, Kiefer Sutherland, Jami Gertz, Alex Winter, Corey Feldman and Corey Haim.

While I’m not really that excited about the reboot because the first one is already so good, maybe it’ll be decent and entertain audiences.
