THE LOST BOYS is Getting a Sequel Comic Book
The Lost Boys is getting a true sequel, and it has nothing to do with that terrible 2008 film. Variety brings us the news that Vertigo comics is working on a direct sequel to the '80s film featuring the brothers Michael and Sam Emerson as they reteam with the Frog Brothers to face a new terror approaching Santa Clara: "a gang of ruthless, stunning, life-sucking nightcrawlers known as the Blood Belles."
Noted DC veteran Tim Seeley (Nightwing) and artists Scott Godlewski and Patricia Mulvihill will join him in the task of recreating the '80s cult classic. Here's what Seeley had to say about the project:
“I saw The Lost Boys at a formative time in my life, when a VHS, a VCR and a summer afternoon were a perfect escape into a crazy world of biker vampires with mullets and monster-fighting hippy grandpas...The Lost Boys was one of my entry points into the horror genre, and I’ve been fascinated ever since. Getting the chance to write a sequel to the film, featuring the original characters, and getting to work with Scott, Patricia and Tony is truly a high point in my comic book-making career.”
Anyone excited to see The Lost Boys get a true sequel that doesn't suck (pun intended)?
