THE LOST BOYS Series Adaptation Will Feature the Frog Sisters and Here's Who's Been Cast
We’ve got some interesting news today for The CW reboot series, The Lost Boys. A few new cast members have been announced that include Sarah Hay (Braid, Flesh and Bone) as Mollie (the Jami Gertz character, Star, in the movie), with Cheyenne Haynes (Camping) and Haley Tju (Bella and the Bulldogs) as the Frog sisters. Yes, they changed the beloved Frog brother characters (played by Corey Feldman and Jamison Newlander in the original) to female characters, because nothing is sacred.
I’ve pretty much come to terms with the fact that this reboot series is going to be nothing like the original movie, because although the story was cheesy, the actors in the movie were really good, and it was an original idea, so you were excited by the story. It just doesn’t really need a regurgitation, in my opinion. But I bet it will be popular because the WB draws in a large teenage audience, and vampires. Vampires help.
Here’s a little synopsis for you in case you’re too young to have watched the original movie. But if you were, watch it now.
Written by Heather Mitchell and directed by Catherine Hardwicke, The Lost Boys is set in sunny seaside Santa Carla, home to a beautiful boardwalk, all the cotton candy you can eat…and a secret underworld of vampires. After the sudden death of their father, brothers Michael (Posey) and Sam Emerson move to Santa Carla with their mother, Lucy (Sanchez), who hopes to start anew in the town where she grew up. But the brothers soon find themselves being drawn deeper and deeper into the seductive world of Santa Carla’s eternally beautiful and youthful undead.
The new actresses will join the previously cast Tyler Posey and Kiele Sanchez as Michael and his mom, Lucy. The Lost Boys is currently in pre-production, and we will let you know when it will be coming to the WB.
Are you looking forward to this series? What do you think about the Frog Brothers being changed to the Frog Sisters?
