THE MANDALORIAN Actress Katee Sackhoff Would Love to Play a Live-Action Poison Ivy and Wants Mike Flanagan to Direct
Katee Sackhoff has been such a great addition to the cast of The Mandalorian, and her story has really taken off this season. Looking ahead to the future of her career, the actress says she’d love to someday play the part of Batman villain Poison Ivy, aka Dr. Pamela Lillian Isley, an eco-terrorist and prominent enemy of the caped crusader.
Sackhoff even stated that she knows just the director for the job as well, her former Oculus director Mike Flanagan (The Haunting of Hill House, Doctor Sleep).
In a recent appearance at Megacon Orlando, ComicBook reports that they asked Sackhoff her thoughts on making an adaptation. As the voice actress who played Poison Ivy in the Batman: The Long Halloween animated movies – and the actress who took Star Wars' Bo-Katan Kryze from animated cult-following to mainstream live-action glory, she seems like a shoe in. And Sackhoff is more than ready, stating:
"I can't quite say that I would sell my firstborn, because she's quite special to me [laughs]. But I would like sh*t twice and die to play Poison Ivy... And to work with Mike Flanagan again. He is such a genius and so collaborative. Working on Oculus was so much fun for me because he allowed me to talk about what I wanted to do with her [the character "Marie Russell] I love bringing physicality to the roles that I play and horror is no different...And he was so all in."
Poison Ivy hasn’t been seen on the big screen since Batman & Robin in 1997, and with Batman’s continued popularity, it seems like now would be a natural time to explore this character some more. What do you think? Would you like to see Sackhoff take on the live-action Poison Ivy?
