Lucasfilm has hired the first director to helm their upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series and that director is Deborah Chow. She directed an episode of The Mandalorian along with episodes of American Gods, Better Call Saul, Lost in Space, Jessica Jones, Reign and Mr. Robot.
Obviously Lucasfilm has enjoyed working with her and they want her back to tell some more stories in the Galaxy far far away. Ewan McGregor is also set to return to reprise his role, which a lot of fans are extremely excited about. It’s not clear of Chow will direct the entire series, which is said to be six or eight episodes or just part of the series.
Obi-Wan is the third Star Wars series that Lucasfilm is developing for Disney+ and there aren’t really any details to share regarding the story. However, we do know that the series will take place eight years after Star Wars: The Revenge of the Sith. That means the series will be set around the same time as Solo: The Star Wars Story. The series will also most likely be set on Tatooine which is where he young Luke Skywalker to live with his aunt and uncle.
Kathleen President previously confirmed that all the scripts for the show have been written and that the series would start shooting next year. The series will eventually air on Disney+.
