THE MANDALORIAN - Here's a List of What Episodes Each Director Will Be Helming
Yesterday we got our first look at Jon Favreau’s Star Wars series The Mandalorian and it got the fans super hyped! We also learned who would be directing the episodes in the series and that list of directors was pretty damn impressive.
Thanks to Making Star Wars, we now know which of the eight episodes that the directors will be taking on. Here’s the breakdown:
101 Dave Filoni (Star Wars Rebels and Clone Wars)
102 Rick Famuyiwa (Dope)
103 Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones, Mr. Robot)
104 Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates)
105 Dave Filoni
106 Rick Famuyiwa
107 Deborah Chow
108 Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok)
Dave Filoni, Deborah Chow, and Rick Famuyiwa are directing two episodes each. While Jon Favreau isn’t directing any of them. I’m ok with that because he’s the guy who is piloting the production and writing it. The guy has plenty of work on his plate and his presence and style will be felt in the series.
I love this list of directors, though. There’s a lot of talent here. I have to say though, that I’m most excited about Dave Filoni and Taika Waitit being involved! I also think it’s cool that Ron Howard’s daughter is getting a shot at playing with the Star Wars franchise! As you know, her dad recently directed Solo: A Star Wars Story.
Here’s the synopsis for The Mandalorian:
After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Warsuniverse. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.
This series seems like it’s going to have a very western-kind of vibe to it and I totally dig that! It will premiere on Disney’s streaming service sometime next year.
