THE MANDALORIAN Is Reportedly Getting a Boba Fett Spinoff Series That Could Start Shooting Next Week
At the end of the first episode of The Mandalorian Season 2, fan-favorite Star Wars character Boba Fett made his return. It was one final quick shot, but it was enough to get fans excited about how his story arc could play out.
While we all wait to see what in store for Boba Fett in The Mandalorian, a new report has surfaced from Deadline saying that Lucasfilm has been developing a live-action Boba Fett spinoff series! Not only that, they say this miniseries is supposed to start shooting next week!
They also reveal that Lucasfilm is prepping for The Mandalorian Season 3, which could start production either next month or as late as spring 2021.
The report also mentions that Sophie Thatcher, who is best known for When the Street Lights Go On and Chicago Med, could be taking a role in either the Boba Fett spinoff or The Mandalorian Season 3, however, they don’t know which one.
Back in February, former Disney CEO Bob Iger teased at Lucasfilm’s plans to expand The Mandalorian franchise with a spinoff series, saying “the possibility of infusing (the mothership series) with more characters and taking those characters in their own direction in terms of series.”
Looks like The Mandalorian is going to be one of those series. What do you think about that? Are you excited to see Boba Fett get a miniseries?
