THE MANDALORIAN Is the Latest Series to Commit an Editing Faux Pas
We live in an era of watching TV in which we can be more articulate, editorial, and nitpicky than ever before because we can access our favorite series at any given time on any device, pause, rewind, zoom in, change the lighting, and all that jazz. So we are far more likely to catch every little issue instead of accepting the fact that these shows are made by human beings who might make mistakes and something in the edge of the frame doesn’t actually impact the story or quality of the show in any way.
I mean, the Starbucks cup in Game of Thrones was funny because the series was set in a different time period and the show had one foot out the door and a huge fanbase to excuse it from such things. But this new finding in the latest episode of The Mandalorian by this guy and his wife is just over the top. They spotted a boom mic in the top of a frame in one scene. A black boom mic against a black backdrop. I really don’t think it matters, and I love The Mandalorian and its quality story, so I just don’t think pointing this out was super important.
But I guess it can help keep the crew on their toes. As long as the poor boom mic operator doesn’t get canned for the ordeal, then no harm, no foul. Check it out below, and watch it on mute if you’re at work or with your kids, cause this guy has zero chill about the boom mic.
