THE MANDALORIAN Season 4 Reportedly May Be Turned Into a Movie

An interesting report has surfaced from Making Star Wars saying that The Mandalorian Season 4 may end up being turned into a feature film.

According to sources at Lucasfilm, “There is a fear Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni will not be able to make two seasons of Disney+ shows that are prerequisites for Dave Filoni’s Star Wars theatrical film. A question being floated is if they can take the main story of Star Wars: The Mandalorian‘s fourth season and edit those scripts into a film that will release after the Rey film. This would effectively give Filoni two theatrical Star Wars films produced by Jon Favreau.”

I have no idea if this is true or not, but I don’t really like this idea. I would much rather get a full fourth season of The Mandalorian, instead of a two-hour movie. But the reason they are considering it is because of the Hollywood strikes. The report says, “The chances of Mando 4, Ahsoka 2, and the untitled Filoni film all being written and filmed on time is looking less possible by the moment… it isn’t that likely unless they let the quality take a nosedive or take lots of amphentamines.”

It’s also explained that right now, Disney is prioritizing theatrical releases for Star Wars over Disney+. As of right now, all we know is that this is being discussed and no decisions have been made. But, “This plan is being floated internally. This plan also seems to be a favorite amongst some of the executives.”

My fear is that if they do try to condense a full season of The Mandalorian into a two-hour movie, the story will suffer. I just think they should stick with the original plan they made with the shows leading up to Filoni’s Star Wars epic film.

What do you think about this, how would you like to see Lucasfilm and Disney proceed?
