THE MANDALORIAN Star Katee Sackhoff Shares Thoughts on Bo-Katan's Role in Dave Filoni's STAR WARS: HEIR TO THE EMPIRE
Katee Sackhoff’s Bo-Katan Kryze has seemed to cement herself as a main player in the future of Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau’s New Republic-era Star Wars story. She made her live-action debut in The Mandalorian and her story arc has been a really cool and interesting one. She still has a long way to go before her story comes to an end. Not only will she be appearing in The Mandalorian Season 4, she’s also expected to play a role in Filoni’s Star Wars: Heir to the Empire movie.
During a recent interview with The Direct, Sackhoff talked about her character and what she might bring to the future of the stories that have yet to be told. One thing that she believes will happen is that she will eventually be reunited with Ahsoka Tano:
"Yeah. I mean, I can't imagine that they wouldn't at some point. But, you know, again, I have no idea. You know, I have absolutely no idea. They don't tell me anything until I show up at work with my script in hand."
Sackhoff was also asked for her thoughts on Sabine Wren's story arc in the Ahsoka series and her transformation into a Jedi:
"I think that Bo has always worked side by side with the Jedi and the Mandalorian people, and I think that she sees the benefit of the two groups working together. And I think that she would, she would probably think nothing of it other than, 'Wow, that's pretty wonderful. Good for you.'"
As for what she sees her character doing in the future in Filoni’s Star Wars movie, which will tie the whole New Republic saga together, she said:
"Well, I think that the Mandalorian people have a lot of rebuilding to do. But I think that the Mandalorians have always been a phenomenal military asset. So, I don't know. She's always been incredibly strategic and methodical. So I think that those skills could be useful. But you never know."
This is the Star Wars movie that will “close out” the interconnected stories that are being told in The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, and Ahsoka. Grand Admiral Thrawn is going to be the big bad villain oof this story.
When previously talking about the movie, Filoni said: “The way I look at it, there are [small] stories, and then there's the big story of the day, too. A New Hope, [The Empire Strikes Back], and Return of the Jedi tell the important parts of the tale that really define the history of the period. There are all kinds of sub-stories underneath that. We've been building all these small stories."
We’ve still got a long way to go before that movie happens, but fans are looking forward to it. How you you like to see Bo-Katan’s story arc play out?
