THE MANDALORIAN's Giancarlo Esposito Has Met With Marvel and Wants to Play Professor X

Giancarlo Esposito (The Mandalorian, Breaking Bad) has said that he has talked with Marvel Studios about the possibility of joining the MCU. There have been talks about playing a few different characters, but the one that he’s most interested in is taking on the role of Professor X.

During a recent interview with TJH Superhero Car Show & Comic Con: "I have not worked for Marvel yet. I've been in a room with them and talked to them." He went on to say:

"There's talk of Magneto. There's been talk of Doctor Doom, and there is Professor X. I'm going to go for something that is a little bit different. I'm going to go and put it out in the universe that it is Professor X."

It’s really not that hard to imagine Esposito in the role of Professor X. It seems like a character that he could easily slip into and do some cool and interesting things with him.

The actor also talked about DC villains he could play and said that he's been linked to Mr. Freeze as well, which is also great casting. Mr. Freeze is one of my favorite Batman villains, and he has such a tragic backstory. I think Esposito could beautifully portray the character.

Marvel Studios has yet to confirm any live-action X-Men project is in the works, but I think that reveal is coming soon with more announcements to be made at the upcoming D23 Expo. We’ll just have to wait and see.

What do you think about the possibility of seeing Esposito in the role of Professor X?
