The Massive-Verse is Crossing Over Again with SUPERMASSIVE 2023 Launching in May
The Massive-Verse is coming together once again! It was recently announced by Image Comics that Supermassive 2023 is coming this May! This year, it looks like Inferno Girl Red is not gonna make it, but The Dead Lucky will be filling in and starring next to Radiant Black and Rogue Sun. Supermassive 2023 will be 50 pages as a one-shot crossover written by Kyle Higgins (Radiant Black), Ryan Parrott (Rogue Sun), Melissa Flores (The Dead Lucky), and Mat Groom (Inferno Girl Red) with art by Daniele Di Nicuolo and Walter Baiamonte.
A doorway has opened. Beyond it lies the Holy Grail. Yes, that Holy Grail. But why are Radiant Black, Rogue Sun, and The Dead Lucky all so desperate to get their hands on it—and who is the mysterious woman who stands in their way?
I’m extremely excited and this is ensuring I hurry and get caught up on all of these comics. Yes, I know that Supermassive 2023 will be a one-shot that doesn’t require you to read everything before it, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want to. Talking about the project, the writers shared the following statement:
The first Supermassive ignited this shared universe—but now, with all of our series in motion, Supermassive 2023 feels like the Massive-Verse in its prime. Wildly different characters with wildly different personalities and motivations, each with their own history, colliding in a pressure cooker. It was almost too much fun to write, and getting to bring Daniele Di Nicuolo and Walter Baiamonte into the fold felt momentous—because their work has been a big inspiration for this initiative since the beginning.
You can read Supermassive 2023 on May 24 and check out the preview below.
