THE MATRIX 4 May Have a Visually Different Style Than The Other MATRIX Films
Matrix fans have all been curious about seeing what director Lana Wachowski is planning for The Matrix 4. Not only in regards to the story that it tells but also what it will look like visually. One of the things fans loved about the original films was the insanely awesome visual style.
Neil Patrick Harris recently appeared on Sirius XM’s Jess Cagle Show and he talked about working with the director, and teased that the visual style has shifted for the upcoming film:
"I think she has a great inclusive energy and her style has shifted visually from what she had done to what she is currently doing."
He didn’t go into any detail about what that visual shift entails, but he did mention that the film will be "ambitious" and feature wirework, which the first film helped to revolutionize in the entertainment industry:
"I've always wanted to be a lead in a big giant action movie with wires and stuff. And this is not bad for me, but it's certainly tangential and fun for me to be able to play in the sandbox a little bit."
Whatever this new visual style is, I hope it ends up being different from anything we’ve seen before. The first movie made our jaws drop, I would love for this upcoming film to do the same thing.
Neil Patrick Harris stars alongside Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss who will reprise their roles as Neo and Trinity, while Aquaman actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is taking on a lead role that could very well be a young Morpheus. Jada Pinkett Smith is also set to come back in the role of Niobe, while Jessica Henwick and Jonathan Groff also have roles.
Wachowski co-wrote the screenplay with Aleksandar Hemon and David Mitchell. Warner Bros. pushed the release of Matrix 4 back to April 1, 2022, so we’ve still got a long wait.
