The Most Extreme Haunted House in America Explored in Trailer for Hulu's MONSTER INSIDE
Hulu has released a trailer for an insane-looking horror documentary called Monster Inside, and it explores the horrors within America’s most extreme hunted house, McKamey Manor.
I love going to haunted houses during the Halloween season, and I’ve been familiar with McKamey Manor. It’s one of those places I’ve been curious about doing, but after watching the trailer for this doc… that’s probably not going to happen. The place is run by Russ McKamey, and he comes off as a complete psychopath.
This Huluween documentary film “tells the story of Russ McKamey, the Navy Veteran turned master of horror, who lures horror enthusiasts into his web. They find themselves pulled into the no-holds-barred world of McKamey Manor - a haunt that doesn't end until Russ says so. Cultivating an online persona and a cult-like following, Russ was allowed to display his basest instincts and rewarded with online fame and notoriety. Driven by his personal fixations, he turned his backyard haunt into a bona fide torture chamber: videotaping ‘contestants,’ particularly vulnerable young women, as he sees how far he can push them - both inside and outside of the haunt.”
It looks like the people who went through McKamey Manor experienced a complete and utter nightmare. It doesn’t look like any of these horror enthusiasts look fondly back on their experience of being tortured.
The doc merges “documentary storytelling with the visual and cinematic language of a horror film, Monster Inside follows three participants as they dive deep into Russ's world and then find the will to fight back."
Monster Inside: America's Most Extreme Haunted House is directed by Andrew Renzi (Fishtail, They Fight, Ready for War, Untold: Jake Paul the Problem Child, and the Pepsi, Where's My Jet?).
