The Sixth DIE HARD Movie MCCLANE is No Longer Happening

As you know a sixth Die Hard film has been in development titled McClane and it would have been both a prequel and sequel. That film was being developed by Len Wisemen (Underworld, Live Free or Die Hard) and I was actually looking forward to it. Well, unfortunately, the movie is no longer happening.

The bad news comes from producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, who told Polygon, "Yeah, no, it's not happening. But what was really interesting was we actually came up with an idea to do it. It was a project that wasn’t Die Hard that then, eventually, shifted over to Die Hard.”

He went on to say, "What was interesting about our idea was it allowed you the ability to meet the young John McClane and use Bruce. So it was really interesting in that way. So you sort of got to see both versions of him. A bit [like The Godfather Part 2]."

The film would have been set in 1979 when McClane was fighting crime as a New York City cop as well as in the present day. It was going to show how he "became a die hard kind of guy."

With the McClane movie dead in the water, there’s a good chance at this point that we may never see Bruce Willis back in the role of John McClane again.
