THE NEW MUTANTS Director Discusses The Movie and Says it's Set in the X-MEN Movie Universe

The first trailer was recently released for The New Mutants and it was mostly met with positive reactions from fans. I personally really like the fact that director Josh Boone made the film in the style of a horror movie because it's something we haven't seeing done in a comic book film yet and it looks like it will be fun. If you haven't seen that trailer yet, make sure to click here to check it out!

The film has a very different vibe than any of the other X-Men films that have been made, and some fans have been wondering if the film is actually set in the same universe as the other X-Men films. The answer to that question is, yes. While talking to IGN, Boone was asked if we would see any other well-known mutants appear in the movie, and this was his response:

"I can't... there's some things I can't talk about. I can just say it is connected to and a part of the X-Men universe, and will continue to be a part of the X-Men universe and will be a part of that as it opens up in the next movies and all that.

If he says he can't talk about it, I'd say that is a yes to other mutants showing up in the movie. He could've easily just said no! But, he also confirms the movie is part of the X-Men universe. He goes on to address some of the complaints about certain characters that aren't in the film, saying:

"Every video complains online about characters that aren't in it right now. I will say we're going to introduce new characters in the next movie as well. Characters like Karma and Warlock, and all that will be in future movies."

So there ya go. This first New Mutants film is just the start of something a lot bigger. So, enjoy what he's done with it, and be patient for the things that are to come. Are you excited about seeing this New Mutsnts movie?
