THE NEW MUTANTS is Going Through Reshoots That Will Add Another Character

Last week Maisie Williams, who plays Wolfsbane in The New Mutants, shot down rumors of reshoots for the film. Well, according to THR, there are going to be reshoots happening soon and they're pretty significant.

According to the report, the horror-themed X-Men film will "undergo a round of additional photography this summer that will insert a new character into the thriller." There's no information on who that character is or why exactly they feel they need to add another character to the story, but that's what director Josh Boone is doing. As of right now all we can do is speculate as to who this new character might be.

I've really liked everything that I've seen from this movie so far and if there's a character being inserted to make it better or connect to it with another X-Men film property, so be it. Who do you think it will be?

Boone previously talked about the movie explaining, “We are making a full-fledged horror movie set within the X-Men universe. There are no costumes. There are no supervillains. We’re trying to do something very, very different.” Here's the synopsis:

Held in a secret facility against their will, five new mutants have to battle the dangers of their powers, as well as the sins of their past. They aren’t out to save the world — they’re just trying to save themselves.

The film also stars Anya Taylor-Joy (Split) as Magik, Charlie Heaton as Cannonball, Blu Hunt as Dani Moonstar, and Henry Zaga as Sunspot.

The movie is set to be released on February 22nd, 2019.
