THE NEW MUTANTS Rating Revealed to be PG-13

The New Mutants has been in production and then limbo for a long time and it’s finally being released this year. For a good long while, fans have debated whether the film would be rated PG-13 or R. I know because of the heavy horror influence fans were hoping for and expecting it to be rated R. Well, according to FilmRatings.com, the film has officially been given a PG-13 rating. This means that we shouldn’t expect too much blood and gore.

“Rated PG-13 for violent content, some disturbing/bloody images, some strong language, thematic elements and suggestive material.”

Here’s the synopsis:

20th Century Fox in association with Marvel Entertainment presents “The New Mutants,” an original horror thriller set in an isolated hospital where a group of young mutants is being held for psychiatric monitoring. When strange occurrences begin to take place, both their new mutant abilities and their friendships will be tested as they battle to try and make it out alive.

The New Mutants also stars Anya Taylor-Joy as Magik, Charlie Heaton as Cannonball, Maisie Williams as Wolfsbane, and Blu Hunt as fallen Mirage. The movie is scheduled to be released in theaters on April 3rd, 2020.
