The New Solar Opposites Trailer Teases a Wonderfully Wild Final Season
Hulu released the trailer for the sixth and final season of Solar Opposites, and it looks every bit as chaotic, twisted, and hilarious as fans were hoping for.
This last ride promises more of the outrageous alien antics we’ve come to love, but the real emotional punch might come from the storyline we’ve all been waiting to see wrap up…. the fate of the people trapped inside “The Wall.”
The trailer teases all kinds of madness. We see Korvo trying to keep control of the team, Terry getting involved with monkeys, Jesse and Yumyulack figuring out their place in school, and the Pupa glowing an ominous shade of green.
But as always, Aisha, the ship’s computer, is pulling more weight than anyone else. Then there’s The Wall, the long-running B-plot that’s become just as captivating as the main story. With Cherie, Ringo (aka the Duke), and Pezlie all still fighting to survive, there are hints that an escape plan could finally be underway.
The official synopsis teases just how wild things are going to get:
“Once their alien diamond making machine gets destroyed, the Solar Opposites must face their greatest challenge yet: living their expensive lives on a budget! When their consumerist habits and expensive hobbies are gone, only their true selves will remain…but will they like who they find? ALSO: The epic story of the people of The Wall has all built to this thrilling and shocking conclusion…”
That’s a lot to unpack, and it sounds like fans are going to get a finale that goes big in every way possible. Solar Opposites has always thrived on its selfish, raunchy, and completely unhinged storytelling, but it’s the layered world-building and weirdly emotional side plots that made it so much more than just another animated comedy. Season six is shaping up to be both ridiculous and surprisingly heartfelt.
The show’s voice cast includes Dan Stevens as Korvo, Thomas Middleditch as Terry, Mary Mack as Jesse, and Sean Giambrone as Yumyulack.
The final season of Solar Opposites premieres October 13 on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.
