The Newest DUNGEONS & DRAGONS Unearthed Arcana Focuses on Bards and Paladins

Dungeons & Dragons has released the next Unearthed Arcana, and this time, it introduces a new subclass for Bards, the College of Eloquence, and a new subclass for Paladins, the Oath of Heroism. The College of Eloquence makes a Bard’s words very persuasive and lets you talk to any creature.

At higher levels, you can cause unease on opponents, bolster allies, or even let allies keep Bardic Inspiration dice if they fail rolls with it. Meanwhile, the Oath of Heroism has some really awesome abilities that probably won’t make it as they are into the final version. For instance, at level 15, Glorious Defense allows you to add your Charisma modifier to your AC as a reaction, and if that causes an attack to miss, you can then attack the attacker.

Also, at Level 20, Living Myth gives you the opportunity to change a missed attack to a hit once on each of your turns. Overall, I think these look great, and I’m interested to see future drafts of these subclasses.
