The Next Film in The A QUIET PLACE Franchise To Be Helmed By PIG Director Michael Sarnoski
Paramount Pictures is bringing on a new director for the next installment of the A Quiet Place horror franchise. Jeff Nichols (Midnight Special) was originally set to helm the film, but when he dropped out of the project, and the role of the director needed to be filled. The movie will be helmed by Michael Sarnoski, who previously directed Nicolas Cage in the fantastic film Pig.
There aren’t many details on the project other than it will be a spinoff of the films. It’s also based on an idea from John Krasinski, who directed and starred in the first two films. The studio is hoping to build on and expand the franchise with this upcoming spinoff movie. Don’t expect Krasinski or Emily Blunt to appear in the film.
I loved what Sarnoski did with Pig, that was an incredible film and one of my favorites of 2021. It’ll be interesting to see what he ends up doing with this Quiet Place spinoff, but I hope after he does this, he goes back to making more great original movies.
Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller will produce the film alongside Krasinski and his partner Allyson Seeger, who serves as executive producer.
