The Next Long-Awaited EVANGELION Movie Coming in 2020

Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 has been in development for years, but it finally has been given a release year. The movie is slated to hit theaters in Japan in 2020 and I imagine we will see it get a U.S. release at some point after it's Japan release. There's also some beautiful artwork that was released that was shared on Twitter.

Apparently, the release date was announced during movie previews starting today, including the previews before Mamoru Hosoda’s new feature Mirai of the Future.

Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 is said to be the fourth final entry in the Rebuild of Evangelion series. The last film that was released was Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo and that was back in 2012.

This latest chapter of the story was supposed to be released sooner, but Evangelion creator Hideaki Anno ended up putting it on hold for a bit to develop his live-action Shin Godzilla movie.
