THE NIGHT AGENT Season 3 Trailer Has Peter Facing the Fallout of a Deal With the Devil
The first full trailer has been released for The Night Agent Season 3, and as you’ll see, Peter Sutherland’s latest mission comes with a heavy moral cost. Netflix is pushing the tagline “What began with a call became a calling,” and this time it lands with more weight as Peter faces the consequences of a choice he can’t undo.
The official trailer expands on the earlier teaser and sets up a global chase that sends Night Agent Peter Sutherland, played by Gabriel Basso, overseas. He’s tasked with tracking down a young Treasury agent, Jay Batra, portrayed by Suraj Sharma, who flees to Istanbul carrying dangerous government intel after killing his boss.
That pursuit quickly spirals into something much bigger, pulling Peter into a shadowy dark money operation while hired assassins close in from all sides.
As Peter digs deeper, he crosses paths with journalist Isabel, played by Genesis Rodriguez, whose own investigation puts her directly in his path. Their uneasy alliance uncovers long-buried secrets and unresolved grudges that threaten to topple the government and put both of their lives on the line.
The dynamic mirrors Peter’s earlier partnership with Rose Larkin from the first two seasons, but the trailer also injects some unexpected energy through Peter’s interactions with Jay. Their post-chase banter gives off a buddy-cop tone that adds a bit of levity to an otherwise intense story.
At the heart of the trailer is Peter’s growing guilt over the deal he struck in Season 2 with wealthy power broker Jacob Monroe, played by Louis Herthum. That bargain saved Rose and tens of thousands of New Yorkers, but the cost is haunting him.
After news breaks of a new terrorist attack on a plane, Peter confesses, “I made a deal of the devil. I saved a lot of people but now every time something goes wrong, I got to wonder if I’m responsible,”
That internal struggle only deepens as the trailer shows Peter facing the hitman known as The Father, portrayed by Stephen Moyer, during what looks like a brutal interrogation. In a moment loaded with regret, Peter admits, “I’m responsible for all of it.”
The footage also teases a long-awaited reunion with Chelsea, played by Fola Evans-Akingbola. The Secret Service agent from Season 1, who briefly appeared in the Season 2 finale while protecting President Richard Hagan, reaches out to Peter with a desperate plea. “You are the only person I can trust,” she says, underscoring how isolated Peter has become.
You’ll also catch a quick first look at Jennifer Morrison as First Lady Jenny Hagan, the wife of now-President Hagan, portrayed by Ward Horton.
Season 3 brings back Basso and Herthum as series regulars, while Rodriguez, Moyer, David Lyons as a former spy pulled back into the game, Morrison, and Callum Vinson join the cast. Horton, Evans-Akingbola, and Albert Jones have been promoted to series regulars, and Amanda Warren returns for multiple episodes as Catherine Weaver.
Created and executive produced by Shawn Ryan and based on the book by Matthew Quirk, The Night Agent continues to raise the stakes with every season. The series returns to Netflix on February 19.
