THE NUN May Have More Connections to THE CONJURING Films Than Originally Thought

From what we've been hearing, the fourth film in The Conjuring cinematic universe, The Nun, is going to be the scariest of them all. That is yet to be seen, however, what we recently learned is that there may be more connections to The Conjuring films than we originally thought.

In The Conjuring 2, the nun is the big baddie of the story. Much like Annabelle, it was inevitable that the nun would get her own story. What we didn’t expect is that Taissa Farmiga, the younger sister of Vera Farmiga who plays Lorraine Warren in The Conjuring films, plays the younger version of the nun in this origin story. Here is what The Nun director Corin Hardy had to say in an interview with SFX about the casting of the younger Farmiga:

"Originally we were looking at casting an English actress. But Taissa was so good I couldn't not cast her. My concern was, if I cast her is it going to be, 'Oh, it's the easy option', but it wasn't! She's so right for the role, she possesses something extraordinary."

She was clearly cast because of her acting prowess, but is it going to mess with everyone’s head due to the distinct similarities in their appearance? Here is what Taissa had to say about it:

"To be honest, I thought, 'Oh, it's going to be weird if they cast me', because of the physical appearances.

Hardy went on to tease that we'll have to "wait and see" about any further connections between the films, but Taissa teased that there were things that were shot that would connect the films.

"Y'know, I'm not sure what they're going to do in editing. We filmed a few things, and we'll have to see what makes it into the final cut."

I am sure they will tweak some things to make the striking resemblance of the actresses not as striking. No matter what they do, I hope this movie is as scary as they are advertising it to be.
