The Original ANIMANIACS Voice Cast Is Returning for the Series Revival

A couple of years ago it was announced that Steven Spielberg was teaming up with Hulu to revive the classic ‘90s animated series Animaniacs. Well, today we’ve got some cool news to share with you regarding the revival.

The original voice cast is coming back to reprise their roles! That includes Rob Paulsen as Yakko; Tress MacNeille as Dot; and Jess Harnell as Wakko. This news is sure to make fans happy! Here’s the announcement that went on on Twitter:

Hulu has already greenlit two seasons of Animaniacs, and the series is being co-produced by Amblin TV and Warner Bros. Animation and it will premiere in 2020. Yeah, we've got a long way to go, but I'm sure it will be worth the wait.

The new Animaniacs centers on Warner brothers, Yakko and Wakko, and the Warner sister, Dot — three inseparable, irascible siblings who have a great time wreaking havoc and mayhem in the lives of everyone they meet. They have been locked away in the Warner Bros. water tower for a very long time, but they have found a way to escape. And escape they do — every day! Causing chaos and comic confusion, Yakko, Wakko and Dot run loose in the city, turning the world into their personal playground. Fan-favorite characters Pinky and the Brain will also return to make appearances in each episode.

I loved the original series! I don’t know when the last time you watched it was, but it’s actually pretty surprising to see what they actually got away with in a kids cartoon series! There’s a lot of stuff in it that’s very adult and would be considered politically incorrect these days. Hopefully, the new series embraces that same style of comedy! Do you think they will?
