The PDP Commuter Case is Great for Bigger Trips with Your Nintendo Switch

PDP was kind enough to send me one of their new Pikachu commuter cases for the Nintendo Switch. It’s great! It can hold my Switch, two extra Joy-Con, a charger, the little grips for the Joy-Con, 14 game cartridges, and a pro controller. Not to mention the outer pocket could hold a little bit more like cleaning cloths and external battery.

The small(ish) form factor of the case is great and makes it really easy to take everything you need to play your Switch on the go. I used it when traveling for Thanksgiving and it was perfect! If you’re just going around town, you might not need to carry as much with you, so a smaller case might be better, but for those bigger trips, this is great! The only thing that would’ve been more perfect is if it easily fit the dock without making it bigger.

Now, I do want to address two things that I felt were awkward. Technically, you can fit a pro controller in the case. However, I tried both of my 3rd party pro controllers (I don’t own an official one) and felt like it was awkward trying to close it because the analog sticks go a little far and seemed to make the case bulge a little. It’s not a deal-breaker, but it is a little annoying. However, I did find it perfect for a Joy-Con grip. The other awkward thing is that the Switch gets put on the lid part of the case with the design which means it’s a little weird when you open the case.

Overall, the commuter cases from PDP are fantastic for trips where you need more than just your Switch. The cute new Pokémon designs add an extra bit of flavor as well to show some personality. You can purchase the case from PDP or Amazon now.
