The Penguin Will Reportedly Be The Main Villain in Matt Reeves' THE BATMAN

An interesting new report has surfaced from entertainment news reporter Justin Kroll that The Penguin will be the main villain in director Matt Reeves' The Batman. Fans have been waiting for some kind of information regarding this movie and I hope that this current rumor turns out to be true. Here's what Kroll says:

This is just a rumor for now, but it would certainly be interesting to see a new version of The Penguin brought to the big screen. The last time we saw The Penguin on the big screen was when Danny DeVito played him for Tim Burton in Batman Returns

The studio is obviously looking to eventually use the character again, so if he doesn't show up in The Batman, maybe he'll show up in Birds of Prey. However, the way that the villain would be portrayed in each film is sure to be very different from each other.

I'm definitely more interested in what Reeves would do with the character in his film. As we've previously reported, he's looking to do a dark noir-style film that will focus on the detective side of the Dark Knight, which I'm excited about seeing! If all goes well, Reeves has an idea for a story arc that would span over the course of a trilogy of films.

I've said before that I'd like to see Batman involved with some hardcore Se7en-style detective story. Are there any great comic book stories that you can think of that you would like to see that involve The Penguin?

What are you all hoping to see from Matt Reeves' The Batman? Would you want to see The Penguin as the main villain?
