The Physical Edition Of SPYRO REIGNITED TRILOGY Will Require Players To Download The Second And Third Games

After the successful re-release of the Crash Bandicoot Trilogy, demand for remakes of older games have been rampant in the gaming industry, and the beloved purple dragon is no exception. As the release of Spyro Reignited Trilogy approaches, players discovered that only the first game would be included in the physical edition of the game as the other two will require players to download it instead. 

This piece of information was spotted by Wario64, who took a closer look at the small print in the new box art of the game. The fine print revealed that the trilogy “requires content download” and fans confirmed this via the official Spyro website, which clearly stated that “Games 2 and 3 require download via internet.”

Fans began bombarding Activision for answers, and in a statement given to Game Informer, the publisher seems to view the download problem as a minor issue. In their statement, Activision said that:

“As with most games today, downloading an update after purchase is quite common. The language on packaging and on the web is to let players know the requirements for Spyro Reignited Trilogy.”

Of course, we all want to think that in this day and age, access to the internet is common worldwide. However, some fans raised their concerns especially those with limited access or those with metered connections. Moreover, it seems that developer Toys for Bob is experiencing a slight delay in the development of the game and would need the extra time beyond the deadline for physical release. So, a day-one patch would be the solution for the publisher to extend development, without delaying the release of the physical version of the trilogy.
