The Pokemon Company is Having a Contest to Name a New Attack for POKEMON SHIELD and POKEMON SWORD
The Pokémon Company has teamed up with CoroCoro magazine for a cool contest. The biggest downside is that it’s only open to residents of Japan, but it’s still cool. The contest is to name a new Steel-type attack for Pokémon Shield and Pokémon Sword that is very strong.
According to Serebii, the move will use the Special Attack stat and have a Base Damage of 140 with the following effect, “Does major damage but reduces user's Hit Points by 50%.” That’s pretty cool. All entries can only be 8 characters long using English, Hiragana, or Katakana and the contest ends May 10.
Whoever is lucky enough to win will receive a copy of both Pokémon Shield and Pokémon Sword for Nintendo Switch, with 20 runners up getting a copy of one of those games.
If you are a resident of Japan, I wish you luck. If you are not, what would you name the move?
