The POWER RANGERS Comics Teams Are Being Shaken Up with Recent Solicitation Information
On Christmas Eve, BOOM! Studios released their solicitations for March 2022. I didn’t want to talk about everything in the solicitation, but there was something that fans of Power Rangers noticed: Ryan Parrott isn’t writing Mighty Morphin #17. Over on Twitter, Parrott confirmed that he is stepping down from Mighty Morphin after #16, but he will be staying on Power Rangers with plans for the Omega Rangers. The new writer for Mighty Morphin will be Mat Groom with artist Moisés Hidalgo taking the reins and Marco Renna will be taking over the art on Power Rangers starting with #17.
Honestly, I’m very excited for this shake up. I really enjoy Parrott’s work on Mighty Morphin, but he’s been writing two Power Rangers comics a month for three years! He deserves a bit of a breather. Although We’ll see how much of a breather he gets with his new series Rogue Sun releasing this year.
Meanwhile, Groom has worked on Ultraman comics and is releasing his own Inferno Girl Red series this next year. Both of which are pretty strong tokusatsu series like Power Rangers. I think he’ll do great, and Parrott gave a ringing endorsement!
