The PREDATOR: BADLANDS Trailer Appears to Include an INDEPENDENCE DAY Alien Skull

The trailer for Predator: Badlands dropped yesterday and fans have been pointing out all kinds of details that they are noticing. One of the more interesting and amusing Easter eegs that has been pointed out was that there’s a skull of an alien from the movie Independence Day in the hunter’s trophy room. That aline is known as a Harvester.

Harvesters are a race of highly intelligent and technologically advanced. They are a hive-mind extraterrestrial race and they are look to harvest and destroy planets to refuel their ships, to grow, and to perfect their technology at the expense of driving indigenous races to extinction.

Obviously, director Dan Trachtenberg is paying tribute to the Roland Emmerich sci-fi classic that a lot of fans like myself grew up with and enjoyed watching. Some fans might think it’s stupid, but I think it’s a fun and harmless little Easter egg.

The synopsis for the film reads: "The newest entry in the Predator franchise is set in the future on a remote planet, where a young Predator, outcast from his clan, finds an unlikely ally in Thia (Elle Fanning) and embarks on a treacherous journey in search of the ultimate adversary."

The movie stars Elle Fanning and it opens in theaters on November 7.
